Fate Online: Shadow

Chapter 213 The App

Tony then let him go and turned towards him with her hands on her waist as she coldly looked at him.

"I’m telling you now Michael, and that what you’re planning to do is almost the same as killing a president of a country, even though that bastard is only a noble. Just don’t forget that he still has some royal blood in him even though he’s not a prince"

"Make sure to do it cleanly, got it? Or else I’ll make your every day a living nightmare!"

Tony narrowed her eyes towards Michael and snorted in annoyance.

"Ahh..! I don’t really understand why someone as young as you are in this line of work," Tony said with frustration in her voice.

"Aren’t someone around your age suppose to be enjoying life?"

Michael just smiled and shrugs his shoulders as he didn’t say anything.

"I’ll make sure that this would be clean, don’t worry about a thing," Michael said, so as to reassure Tony’s worries.

"You should! Now let’s go back inside!" Tony said with a snort before making her way inside the house.

Michael just sighed and just as he was about to follow her, his pair of eyes suddenly glinted with coldness as he gave a quick glance to a certain direction, before softly snorting and followed Tony inside.

At another corner of the neighborhood.

A man in casual attire placed his binoculars equipped with night vision down and looked at his companion beside him and said, "Did the kid just noticed us? It felt like he just glanced towards our direction"

"I don’t think so, we’re at least over three hundred meters away from them" his partner just rolled his eyes, thinking that his partner is just seeing things and was probably just tired from work.

The man narrowed his eyes and said, "No, it felt like he really did look towards our direction earlier"

His companion wearing black windbreakers just rolled his eyes and said to him, "Come on man, you’re probably just tired and imagining things, why don’t you take a rest first and I’ll take the first watch for now?"

The man in casual attire didn’t say anything for a moment before he sighed and said, "You’re probably right. I’m probably just seeing things because of my lack of sleep. After this, I’ll take the second watch"

"No problem, I’ll wake you up when it’s your turn," the man in windbreakers said without looking at his companion as he focused his attention at the mansion before their sights.

Then the man in casual attire just shook his head and headed back inside the house to get some long rest, thinking that what happened earlier was probably just due to his fatigue.

’Was it really because I’m just tired?’ the man tilted his head in thought before laying down on the long sofa and quickly fell asleep within a few seconds.

Meanwhile.

While Olivia and Viper are busy with the dishes, and Summer who’s currently playing with Cathy upstairs.

Michael, Genesis, Miya and the rest are having a small discussion among themselves in hushed tones in front of the house.

"So have you guys found the identity of people who have been watching this place?" Michael asked in a soft voice.

"We already did, they’re people from Mine Tech. Industries" Monk answered with an annoyed snort.

"Ignore them, they’re not a threat to us. So long as they don’t make a move against us, then we won’t too unless they wanna die" Circle snorted and his voice was full of chilliness.

"Anyway, I heard you’re planning to get rid of that bastard?" Monk asked Michael after hearing this recent news from Genesis earlier tonight.

Michael looked at every single one of them with a doubtful look on his face and said, "What’s wrong with you people? It sounded like you really hate this guy, you guys have been constantly asking me about his"

"We just don’t like people like him" answered Robin.

Then Miya butted in and said, "Right, don’t forget to check if there’s a request for his head in the "Basement". After all, it would be waste if there was one and you just went over and kill him, and resulting in you missing out the rewards for his head.

"Huh? But I’d need to go to another city if do that" Michael said, knowing that the nearest branch of The Continental is at another city, a day away from Central.

Tony crossed her arms and rolled her eyes before opening her mouth and said, "It seems you haven’t been up to date of the news lately, the group had already developed an encrypted app for its members where you can now accept missions from there. I’ll send the files later in your phone"

’An app?’ Michael bitterly smiled, realizing that this is just one of the so-called butterfly effects. It was because he knows full well that there wasn’t such a thing as an App that they had used before.

"Then quickly send me the encryption of the App so I can download it immediately," Michael said while looking at Tony.

Tony just rolled her eyes at him and said, "Later, when Olivia and the kids go home. It’s currently in my laptop"

Michael just rolled his eyes and then looked at every single one of them, and what’s weird is that every single one of the people around him seems eerily quiet.

But just as he was about to open his mouth and say something, his eyes suddenly flashed with a cold glint.

It was because he finally realized that there were several eyes looking at them from multiple directions.

"So what do these people want by watching you guys here around the clock every day?" Michael said, as his voice has a wisp of coldness in it.

"We never approached any one of them because they have only been watching us from a distance. We are already retirees, we’d rather be regarded as normal citizens. I’m pretty sure they would just leave us alone when if they get whatever their purpose is"

Being the eldest among them, Robin answered Michael’s question, and the others also nodded to affirm what he said.

After all, these people just want to leave a normal life now, and a good example of that is Viper who already has a girlfriend and even had children to take care of.

"And besides, it seems their numbers have become smaller since Viper started dating Olivia" Miya said with a huge smile on her face, while the others agreed with her with small smiles on their faces.

"Really?" Michael raised an eyebrow, but at the same time, he could feel that Genesis and the others are hiding something from him.

Michael wanted to ask them about it but held himself back knowing that they probably wouldn’t tell him.

After all, they were only acquainted for over two months in this lifetime and what they’re not telling him is probably something important and they didn’t want to disclose it to someone they haven’t fully trusted yet.
