Chapter 918
Chapter 918
Adrianna had a tearful goodbye with her son and husband. It would be the first time in a while that they would be apart for so long. She didn\'t even know when she would be back, but she had to do it.
"I wish I had friends like you." Camilla told Adrianna as she handed her a mug of hot coffee on the plane.
They had taken Cedric\'s private plane since Guan Ming\'s was still undergoing some repairs after what happened last time.
Adrianna gave Camilla a weak smile as she thanked her for the coffee.
"Honestly, my biggest regret is that after Cedric revealed his identity to the public, I didn\'t get to see them as much." Adrianna said with a sigh.
She felt that she was partially to blame for Julia\'s search for Lucius. She felt unloved and abandoned after she and Ram broke up that she sought love from someone she initially tried to escape.
"We both know that it was practically impossible." Camilla reminded Adrianna. "I was still working for Cedric as his assistant and just finding time for you guys to have dinner was a headache."
Adrianna chuckled at Camilla\'s words, she did remember how tough those times were.
"Life has truly changed so much since Cedric and I first got married." Adrianna said as she looked at the mug in her hands.
"Yeah, for one you didn\'t know you were marrying the Reyes Heir." Camilla pointed out.
"Or that I was going to be the mother of the new Reyes Heir." Adrianna added as she thought of her little son back at home.
"You know, I liked you already even before I found out you were my boss\' wife." Camilla said as she recalled the now distant time.
"Yeah, I used to occasionally come along when you, Cedric, and Ian would have drinks or go out." Adrianna smiled at the woman next to her. "Did you know that Cedric was the Reyes Heir back then? I mean, the CEO and his friends supported you all throughout your life and Katerina was a friend."
Camilla shook her head and frowned.
"I knew the CEO had a son, I didn\'t know his name, but I did have a vague idea of his age and how he looked." Camilla told Adrianna. "The person that should have recognized Cedric is Ian. They were in the same school for years!"
"Yeah, that was pretty odd for Ian not to recognize Cedric." Adrianna said as she nodded in agreement.
"We\'re landing soon." An air stewardess said as she reached out to gather Adrianna\'s and Camilla\'s mugs.
"Thanks." Adrianna smiled as she handed the mug.
"In Ian\'s defense he had a lot more going on in his life back then and he did say that Cedric looked oddly familiar. He just couldn\'t figure out why." Camilla recalled as she fastened her seatbelt and prepared for landing.
"I\'m glad it turned out for the best in the end." Adrianna smiled as she thought of all the good times that she and Cedric celebrated, rich or poor.
When they landed on Kashmere there were several cars already waiting for them. They quickly piled into two cars with Adrianna alone on the second one with several bodyguards.
"Mr. Reyes said that he will give you a call soon, he is just in a meeting for young master Emilio\'s school." A bodyguard said as he looked up from his phone.
Adrianna nodded, she assumed that Cedric had left her a message too, but her phone was still switched off.
She didn\'t want any distractions as she prepared to face Julia.
She honestly did not know what to expect. Her friend had been through so much and even Adrianna had learned so much about Julia that her image of her friend had now changed.
While deep in thought the car pulled up in front of the hospital and the bodyguard opened the door for her.
"Mrs. Reyes." The bodyguard said as she was pulled back from her thoughts.
She shook her head and gathered herself before stepping out of the car and entering the hospital.
"What room is she in?" Adrianna asked the nurse that had come out to meet them.
"I\'m here to escort you to Miss Tiu, Mrs. Reyes." The nurse said as she led Adrianna through the hospital and towards the elevator.
"Mr. Reyes said you aren\'t to use the stairs." The bodyguard told Adrianna.
She simply nodded, she didn\'t have the time or energy to argue.
Julia\'s room was on the second floor of the hospital so the elevator door had barely closed when it was opening up once more to let them out.
She silently followed the nurse to one of the rooms where she saw Julia\'s name outside.
"Due to security concerns, Miss Tiu is the only patient in the hospital right now." The nurse explained as she pushed the door open.
"Adri!" Julia greeted her with a smile as she sat on the bed.
Miguel was hovering with several other doctors and nurses checking up on her as she waved at her friend.
"Julia, I\'m so glad you\'re awake!" Adrianna said happily as she walked to her friend\'s bedside.
A bodyguard quickly got a chair for Adrianna and placed it nearby in case she wanted to sit.
"Is she alright?" Adrianna asked Miguel as she noticed the concerned look on his face.
"Yes, yes, she\'s fine." Miguel said with a nod as he gave her a small smile. "I\'m guessing you want some time alone to talk?" He asked her.
Adrianna nodded, remembering what she had to do on this visit.
"Will it be fine to talk to her about more serious topics?" She asked Miguel.
"It should be alright, but if it will make you feel better I can stay." Miguel offered.
Adrianna paused for a moment to consider asking him to stay. Miguel knew about everything she wanted to discuss with Julia and she felt no reason for him not to stay, but she knew that Julia might not be comfortable with him around.
"There is a call button here, right?" Adrianna asked as she recalled the button that alerted the nurses and doctors if a patient needed anything.
"Yes, and I\'ll be outside if anything happens." Miguel said with a nod as he understood that the women would be more comfortable speaking alone.
"Then we should be fine." Adrianna told the doctor.
Miguel simply nodded in response and ushered all of his staff out leaving only one bodyguard with Adrianna.
"How are you feeling, really?" Adrianna asked as soon as they were alone.
Julia glanced at the bodyguard that stood by the door. Cedric was being overprotective with Adrianna one month away from her due date and this was the minimum he was willing to allow.
"He won\'t tell anyone about what he hears, if he wants to keep his life." Adrianna told Julia in the hopes of calming her.
"That\'s a bit too drastic isn\'t it?" Julia asked as she looked at her friend in shock.
"It\'s Cedric\'s men." Adrianna said as she shrugged and sat down. "He demands loyalty and that\'s one of the ways he gets it."
Julia nodded, unwilling to argue or question Cedric.
"Honestly, I feel like shit." Julia confessed. "I want to go home, but I don\'t know if my parents or my brother will want me back after what I did."
"If it makes you feel any better they are all worried about you." Adrianna told her friend as she tried to ease her worry.
"Do you think I can see them soon?" Julia asked.
"Well, it depends." Adrianna said with a frown. "Your parents aren\'t in the country for their own safety and your brother is actually staying in Mountain View with us. You will be able to see him once you\'ve fully recovered."
"It\'s good to hear that they are safe." Julia said with a smile.
"Julia, I\'ll be honest, we need your help for something." Adrianna told Julia as she held her friend\'s hand.
"What is it? Anything, I\'m willing to help, you got me out of Spain and I owe you my life." Julia said with a sweet smile.
"Don\'t be mad, but there is no other way to say this and I have no plans of sugar coating my words, but," Adrianna hesitated as she imagined her friend\'s reaction, but what she needed from Julia affected more people than she could imagine so she needed to ask.
Adrianna took a deep breath before speaking again.
"Julia, we need you to use you to draw out you husband." Adrianna confessed. "We need to use you as bait. He\'s involved with people that are risking not just our lives but the future of the country. You need to help."
Julia was frozen at Adrianna\'s words.
"Say something." Adrianna begged.
"My husband, you found him? He\'s alive?" Julia asked in shock as she processed the new bit of information she had just heard.
