"Grandpa." Benedict said as he stepped out of the library.

The old man took a step back, he was clearly in shock. Someone he thought that had died was standing in front of him, alive and well.

Benedict walked over with Camilla just a step behind him.

The siblings had watched as their grandfather threw accusation after accusation at Cedric, acting as if killing for revenge was justifiable.

Benedict was beyond disappointed in the old man, he had hoped that with age came wisdom, but it seemed false.

"Brother, your temper." Camilla whispered, making sure that no one else heard her.

Benedict stopped in his tracks and closed his eyes, he took a deep breath as he felt Camilla place a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"Thank you." Benedict said as he patted Camilla affectionately on the head and gave her a warm smile, confusing everyone that stood around them.

"You\'re supposed to be dead." Grandpa Ortiz said as he pointed at Benedict.

"Well if we are talking about dead people, I should be too." Camilla said with a shrug as she grinned at the old man.

Benedict had told her how much she looked like their mother, the old Ortiz house was filled with photos of their mom at Camilla\'s age.

When her grandfather saw her he was speechless. Cedric even thought that the old man would faint at the sight of Camilla.

"G- g- ghosts, you have to be ghosts." Grandpa Ortiz said as he took a step back, creating distance between him and the siblings.

"Gramps, I\'m not dead." Benedict said as he reached out and held his grandfather\'s arm. "Grampa, I faked my death. I couldn\'t take anymore of Aiden\'s hate."

"How?" Grandpa Ortiz said as he pointed at Camilla, his arm visibly shaking in shock.

"Grandpa." Camilla started to say, the words felt so alien to her. Her adoptive grandparents had died early on, way before she began speaking again after the trauma. So saying grandfather for the first time felt weird to her.

"You died. You died with your parents." Grandpa Ortiz said as he stared at Camilla, wide eyed with shock. "There was a car crash and the bodies couldn\'t even be retrieved."

"There was a crash, my parents did die." Camilla said with a serious look on her face.

"You weren\'t with them?" Grandpa Ortiz asked. "But I saw them take you with that other girl, the one they took."

"So they really kidnapped Katerina?" Camilla said with a frown.

Grandpa Ortiz refused to answer her question as he continued to stare at her in shock.

"My parents treated me badly." Camilla suddenly said, revealing her long buried past. Saying it out loud hurt her more than she had expected.

Benedict pulled her to his side, hugging her, comforting her, as tears began to flow from Camilla\'s eyes.

"My parents abused me. I was the child they never wanted!" Camilla shouted. "Do you know why they brought me along grandpa? Do you?" Camilla asked.

The old man averted his gaze as she continued to cry.

"You knew?" Benedict asked as he glared at his grandfather. "You fucking knew that they were hurting her and that they planned to live her in the capital to survive on her own, and you let them?!"

"You were their children, I couldn\'t interfere." Grandpa Ortiz said.

"She was four!" Benedict shouted. "My little sister was four! They abused her and took her to the city and wanted to abandon her! She is your granddaughter."

"So let me make it right!" Grandpa Ortiz said, answering his grandson back. "Let me mend the broken relationship. We can go to your brother, we can become a family again."

"Old man, I don\'t trust you." Benedict said as he glared at his grandfather.

"If your brother knows that Camilla is alive he will come back." Grandpa Ortiz said as he desperately tried to win the siblings back. "He will even drop the grudge if knows that Camilla is alive."

"He won\'t." Cedric suddenly said, joining into the conversation. "He knew and he didn\'t."

"Aiden knows?" Grandpa Ortiz said in a shaky voice. "How long has he known? Why didn\'t he tell me? I spoke to him recently and he didn\'t tell me."

"He knew." Cedric corrected. "He found out when he kidnapped Camilla, weeks ago."

"Why didn\'t he tell me?" Grandpa Ortiz looked like he wanted to break down.

All of a sudden Cedric couldn\'t help but pity the old man, all he wanted was for his family to become complete once more and yet it could never happen.

"Probably because of shame." Cedric said with a shrug. "He was mad at the wrong people. We never hurt Camilla. As a matter of fact Camilla is like a sister to me, she is one of my closest and oldest friends."

"But he loves Camilla, how could he just leave her?" Grandpa Ortiz asked as he stared blankly at Cedric.

"He also wanted to rape me." Camilla suddenly said speaking up.

"No! Your brother wouldn\'t do that." Grandpa Ortiz said as he hopelessly tried to defend his grandson. "I will call your brother back, we will be a family again!"

"Grandpa, Aiden is dead." Benedict said.

Cedric was right, the old man couldn\'t take the shock of the news and collapsed at the center of the ballroom.
