The Villain and the Cannon Fodder’s Mother

Chapter 234: What Zhang Xiying said doubtlessly hit her where it hurt the most! (3)

Zhang Xiying had finished with straightening her gown. She casted Yao Yimeng a glance from the reflection in the mirror before she turned and walked inside of the dressing room to change.

It was certainly unpleasant running into one’s foe.

The two really disliked each other and the atmosphere was so hostile that even the workers were afraid to approach the them.

Even if nobody knew of the behind-the-scenes details with regards to the incidents between Zhang Xiying and Yao Yimeng, when the two main players in the role-switching incidents ran into each other, it was about as disastrous as two planets colliding into each other!

Who would be so stupid as to interrupting the two of them at this inconvenient moment and draw troubles upon themselves?

Matter of fact, there really was such a bold person.

Hearing nothing else coming from the inside, the little assistant finally poked half of her head in there. Before she was able to get a good look of what was going on, she saw Yao Yimeng walking out angrily with her gown in her hands.

“You, you are done?”

The little assistant stuttered a little.

Done, my @$$!

Yao Yimeng hrumphed.

She planned to tell her father about this encounter as soon as she got home!

And that was exactly what she did when she got home – complained to him about her unpleasant encounter with Zhang Xiying earlier today.

Yao Sen, on the other hand, didn’t think much of it after he listened to her recount of the incident. In fact, he felt that his daughter was being too petty and talked to her patiently, “Zhang Xiying is more famous than you, has more fans than you, and draws more attention than you. Why do you think you can compete with her?”

That coming from her father was an eye-opener for Yao Yimeng!

“Aren’t you my father? Shouldn’t you be backing me up?!”

She tossed the gown onto the floor angrily and as though that wasn’t enough, she stomped on it repeatedly. “Forget about this stupid charity ball. I won’t be going!”

He had spoiled his daughter too much!

Yao Sen pinched between his brows and said, “Alright, stop taking it out on the gown? You know Dad is trying to set you up with someone this time, right? I’ve mentioned Shengshi Entertainment to you in the past. If you have both companies backing you, don’t you think you will become more famous than that Zhang Xiying?”

This was not the first time that this idea had occurred to Yao Sen.

Part of the reasons that he invited the two actresses last time was to double as a test for Lu Xun.

Just as he had expected, Lu Xun passed his test with flying colors!

Lu Xun had very few scandals. The only time he was involved in one had to do with Lin Yiyi.

Yao Sen, however, did not believe that the two of them really had anything to do with each other. He was partly involved in the entertainment circle himself and had seen only too many real and fake news.

Besides, judging from the interactions between the two of them the other day, it didn’t suggest the two were in a relationship at all.

Most importantly, Lu Xun was at the perfect age, but Lin Yiyi was a divorced woman with two children. Not to mention that she was older than Lu Xun.

All in all, Yao Sen had a lot of faith in his judgment!

Yao Yimeng was placated and was no longer upset. She was still a little bit mincing in the way she talked. “Well… what if I am still not as famous as her?”

An actress’s look alone was not enough for her to become famous. It would also depend on her resources, acting, and luck… and, even with all those, there were still many who never became famous. Some people were just not popular among audiences.

As much as she didn’t want to admit to it, she must say that Zhang Xiying, overall, was quite capable!

Yao Sen gave her a look and said, “If you don’t become famous, you are coming back to succeed the family business.”

Just like that Lin Yiyi. She was doing fairly well for herself.
